Further, he has experience monitoring and influencing state policy governing teacher certification, and supporting colleagues and others in the space to understand the intricacies of school funding, teacher pipelines, assessment and accountability and school innovation.

In his spare time, he volunteers as a member of the Steering Board of Leadership McAllen, and was a member of Leadership McAllen Class XXIX, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the International Museum of Arts and Sciences.  Further, he serves on the Leadership Advisory Council of the UTRGV Department of Organization and School Leadership and the McAllen ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC).
